Ashland to Allow City Administrator to Approve Business Licenses

Ashland board of aldermen voted on a bill yesterday that would allow the city administrator to grant business licenses without consulting the board. The bill must be voted on again by the board of aldermen before being approved.

The bill will enable business owners to obtain licenses right away instead of having to wait for a board’s meeting for approval.

As Alderman Randy Wyatt said, ““I don’t remember us ever having denied a business license anyway,” quoted in the Boone County Journal. “The process would be streamlined.”
