Butte County Convicts Two Brothers for doing Business without a License

George and Kevin Snow were convicted yesterday for operating a paving business without state, county or city business licenses.

The brothers offered to pave people’s driveways and fill pot holes for discounted prices. Halfway through the job they would insist on receiving more money to complete the work they started. Residents in Butte County and elsewhere in California, who had been subject the Snows’ scam, complained to city officials. Upon investigation, the Snows were found to be working without the requisite business licenses. The brothers were arrested and ordered to stand trial.

According to Ryan Olson’s report in The Contra Costa Times, “George Snow was sentenced to 180 days in Butte County Jail and Kevin Snow was given 120 days. Each brother also received 100 hours of community service.”

The brothers must also pay $69,021 in reimbursement for money charged to their customers.
