Lake Elsinore Grants Business License Fee Waivers

November 11, 2011

Lake Elsinore council members voted on Tuesday, November 8, to forego the collection of business license fees on all new business license applications and business license renewals that are submitted from now through January 31, 2012.

This is not the first year that business owners get a break on Lake Elsinore, CA business license fees. Last year’s business license fee waiver program cost the city over $5,000 in lost revenue as 71 businesses took advantage of the waiver to apply for the free business license that usually costs $72.

Lake Elsinore – Wildomar Partch reports that Councilman Peter Weber cast the only dissenting vote for the program as he felt that the loss of revenue engendered by the program outweighed the potential benefits of the business license fee waivers.

Local business owners are urged to take advantage of the program and ensure that all their business license filings are up to date.
