Missoula to Institute New Business Licensing Software

Just a few short weeks after increasing business license fees to help lower budget deficits, Missoula council members voted to spend up to $894,000 on instituting a new business license software.

Councilmen claim that the software is important to help ease the licensing process. As Keila Szpaller wrote in The Missoulian, “A recent report criticized the city of Missoula in part for being slow and inefficient in permitting. It suggested the processes needed automating and consolidating, and Councilwoman Pam Walzer said the new program would serve those goals.”

The new software called Accela Automation, will allow contractors to renew licenses and permits online.
