State Tax Team on the Lookout for Unlicensed Businesses

March 20, 2012

Business owners are being notified about state agents’ plan of visiting local businesses to check if they have the proper Santa Rosa, CA business licenses as well as the necessary California business licenses and permits for conducting business.

The Board of Equalization’s Statewide Compliance and Outreach Program teams have visited hundreds of thousands of businesses in California since 2008 to ensure compliance with state and local business licensing requirements.

The North Bay Business Journal reports, “Seven teams operate from Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Van Nuys, Norwalk, Irvine and Riverside. They conduct door-to-door, in-person visits to check seller’s permits at stores and other known retail and business locations.”

Businesses are urged to get their business licenses before being contacted by the compliance team. Avoid paying the heavy penalties and fines associated with incompliance by speaking to a licensing professional at Business Licenses, LLC today.
