Union City Officials to go after Unlicensed Businesses

As part of the 2011-2012 budget, Union City Council added a salary for a specialist to ensure that all Union City businesses are properly licensed.

Council members feel that there are many businesses in Union City who aren’t paying their business license taxes.

According to Union City Patch, “city staff estimate the position will bring in $250,000 in additional revenues in fiscal year 2012 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2013.”

The council will vote on the budget later this month.
