Washoe County to Offer Regional Business License

Northern Nevada legislatures are planning on creating a regional business license that would combine business license application for Washoe County and Reno and Sparks Cities. Business owners who do business in both cities would be able to apply at their home office for a regional business license that would cover licensing requirements for both cities and the county.

According to Susan Voyles, a report for RGJ.com, “The Sparks assistant city manager Steve Driscoll and Reno business licensing manager Mike Chaump also are working to standardize a list of businesses that require privileged licenses and consider ones that shouldn't require city council or county commission approval.”

County officials are expecting to institute parts of the system by January, 2012 and to have the whole system up and running by 2014. Legislatures expect to have the business license application system available online by 2013.
