Berea Steps up Measures To  Keep Track of Business Licenses

December 15, 2011

In an effort to ensure that all local businesses comply with business licensing regulations, Berea city officials have voted to institute a new business license tracking system.

The charge for a Berea, KY business license is a one-time $10 fee paid at the time of the submission of the license application. When city officials tried transferring the business license data to an updated computer program they realized that much of the business license information on record was outdated. Ronica Shannon explains in The Richmond Register that city officials would like to have greater command over local business licenses.

“Presently, we have a lifetime business license fee of $10,” said City Administrator Randy Stone during Tuesday’s Berea City Council meeting. “We have no way of maintaining that system. This is a letter we’re sending to about 5,000 businesses that we have on file. We are asking them to provide us with information requested on a business license. If you have a business that is no longer in operation, we’d like to know about that.”

Businesses who have already paid the $10 fee don’t have to pay any additional funds when filling out the business license form.

Business license changes occur in different localities each day. Large businesses can save the time and effort it would take to uncover changes in each branch location by outsourcing business license management to licensing experts. Business Licenses’ Outsourced Business License Management Service allows big businesses to outsource business license filing, maintenance and renewal for all their required business licenses & permits with every licensing authority in the U.S.
