Dekalb Institutes New Rental Business License Regulations

January 17, 2012

Business licensing will be getting a bit more complicated for rental owners this January. Together with their Dekalb, GA business license renewal forms, rental owners will receive a letter informing them of the new regulations in place necessary to qualify for the county rental business license.

In order to qualify for a rental business license, apartment buildings will be subject to an inspection by an independent state-certified inspector. Inspectors will ensure that the interior of rental apartments are up to the county safety standards, such as a check on the electric outlets, smoke detectors and light fixtures.

County officials feel that this requirement will aid in ensuring the safety of all rental apartments.

Champion Newspapers reports that “Complexes that are less than five years old are exempt and the ordinance does not apply to condominiums, duplexes or extended stay hotels.”

Business license changes occur in different localities each day. Large businesses can save the time and effort it would take to uncover changes in each branch location by outsourcing business license management to licensing experts. Business Licenses’ Outsourced Business License Management Service allows big businesses to outsource business license filing, maintenance and renewal for all their required business licenses & permits with every licensing authority in the U.S.
