Rock Hill Businesses Could Save up to 15% on Licensing Fees This Year

Rock Hill businesses could save 15% on licensing fees if they register for the local 2011-2012 business license early enough. Council members approved this measure yesterday in an attempt to help businesses hurt by a struggling economy.

The city will slowly phase out the reduction by allowing for a 10% savings in licensing fees for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, and a 5% decrease for the 2013-2014 year. After that licensing fees will revert to its former cost.

Herald Online reports that according to city budget director Steven Gibson, “The fee discount is expected to cost the city about $450,000 in the upcoming fiscal year.”
