Sanger, CA Launches Business License Amnesty Program

October 31, 2011

The Sanger CA business license amnesty program is a gamble that council members felt would pay off when they voted to forego the collection of old unpaid business license fees as long as business owners comply with certain regulations.

Business owners must apply for a current city business license between October 21 and December 31 in order to qualify for the amnesty program. They also must pay for delinquent licensing fees of the past 2 years. In turn the city will forego the collection of businesses’ unpaid licensing fees for as many years prior to the 2 year obligation that hadn’t been paid up. Council members are hoping that the incentive of not having to pay thousands of dollars in unpaid licensing fees when applying for a current business license would prompt business owners to come into compliance now.

As The Sanger Herald quotes Deborah Sultan, Finance Director for the City of Sanger, who presented the Business License Amnesty Program to the city council having said, “The idea is to increase compliance with Business License Tax ordinance and to provide an even playing field for all businesses operating in the City of Sanger."

Business owners are urged to review their business licenses and ensure that they are in full compliance with Sanger business license regulations. Gap Analysis and License Verification Services are offered by Business Licenses, LLC for companies who wish to identify the gaps in their company’s business licenses through analytic reports and ensure compliance with all localities’ regulations.
