SOS Threatens Thousands of WV Business Licenses

September 8, 2011

Thousands of business owners could lose their West Virginia business licenses if they don’t file their annual reports soon.

A staggering number of businesses have failed to file their annual reports in time of the June 30th deadline. The West Virginia annual reports, similar to other states' business license renewals, bring business information up to date such as names of employees and the mailing addresses without disclosing financial details.

The Office of the Secretary of State sent out notices warning 7,000 businesses that if they don’t file their annual reports by October 31, their business licenses will be revoked. As WHSV reports, “Businesses who do not file their annual report by that date will have their business licenses revoked and will be administratively dissolved by the Secretary of State’s Office.

On top of the $25 filing fee, businesses who are filing their annual reports now will have to pay a $100 late fee.

Don’t lose your West Virginia business licenses. Outsource the filing of your annual reports to Business Licenses, LLC. Contact a licensing expert at 1-800-679-3611 for more information about out Outsourced Business License Management Program.
