Unlicensed Business Owners Arrested in Atlanta

January 10, 2012

Police have arrested the owners of an unlicensed home bar that had been operating without both a Georgia liquor license and an Atlanta, GA business license.

Crime Stoppers tipped off the police about the illegal operation. A police investigation uncovered a bar and lounge area as well as a place for sales that held thousands of dollars in alcohol. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the bar owners, Carey Willingham, 75, and Larry Davis, 69.

The Atlanta Journal reports that the two “are charged with selling alcohol without a license and operating a business without a license.”

Business license compliance is mandatory on national, federal and local levels. Operating without proper state, county and city business licenses can cost business owners thousands in fines and penalties as well as needless aggravation and problems. Business owners are urged to take advantage of Business Licenses’ "Business License Compliance Package™"  which explains exactly which licenses, permits, and tax registrations are required for your business, ensuring license compliance on every level.
