Washington Officials Propose Streamlining Local Business Licenses

January 9, 2012

Washington State officials are proposing easing the business license process by eliminating the need for multiple business license filings for individual towns and cities.

Businesses that have dealings in multiple cities are required to obtain business licenses from each locality. This process can oftentimes be a frustrating and draining affair as business owners struggle with endless questions on multiple forms.

By streamlining the Washington business license process, Gov. Chris Gregoire hopes to ease the strain on local businesses by allowing them to apply for a business license at one central location that will cover all local jurisdictions in the State of Washington.

The Capital Record reports that the proposed plan would create “a single state website where businesses can obtain a business license, eliminating the 50 or so websites that are now run by individual cities.”

Outsourcing business license filings is the most preferred way by big businesses in dealing with the business license process. Business Licenses, LLC’s Outsourced Business License Management – allows large companies to outsource business license filing, maintenance and renewal for all the required business licenses & permits with every licensing authority in the U.S., ensuring compliance on every level.
