Ambulance Service Operator continues to Fight for Billings Business License

Keith Harbour, the owner of Sleeping Giant Ambulance LLC, is determined to find a way to legally operate his ambulance service in Billings. After being denied an ambulance business license by the city, Harbour applied for a temporary general Billings business license in order to be allowed to provide service to non-emergency patients in the city.

Sleeping Giant Ambulance LLC is a Helena based ambulance service that provides a high standard of care for private contract services. Harbour wants to relocate to Billings in order to be able to more conveniently transfer patients to the Advanced Care Hospital of Montana in Billings.

Sleeping Giant already holds a Montana business license for basic life support transport service with advance life support authorization. Transferring emergency patients would necessitate the purchase of a Billings ambulance business license, which has been denied to Harbour.

The Billings Gazette quotes Harbour having said, “We will operate eventually ... no matter what the determination is.”

In the meantime, Harbour is continuing to transport non-emergency patients, a service that is covered by his temporary general business license.
