Bayonne Increases Business License Fees

February 23, 2012

Council members approved a measure last Wednesday, February 15, 2012, allowing for increases to many Bayonne, NJ business license fees. The increases were unanimously passed by councilmen who felt that they were justified as they will be used to finance the government services provided to local businesses.

Some examples of the businesses affected by the increases are peddlers, pool halls and flower shops. Peddlers will have to shell out an additional $100 for their Bayonne peddler’s business license; instead of $150 the business license will now cost $250. The charge for a pool hall business license will also cost $250 and the cost for a flower shop business license will be $100.

NJ.com reports that the city received little opposition to the increases from local residents before passing the measure that would raise business license fees.
