Business License Fees on the Rise Again in Rockford, IL

November 23, 2011

City aldermen are looking for ways to generate funds to fill a huge gap in the 2012 proposed budget. Amongst other suggestions for fee increases, city officials are hoping to impose an increase on Rockford, IL business license fees.

To avoid a possible backlash against higher fees from struggling business owners, Rockford aldermen proposed only a slight increase of 3% across the board.

WIFR reports that these increases will generate only an additional $1,500 annually.

Aldermen are hoping to vote on the approval of the increases on the first of next year.
