Farragut May Enact Business License Ordinance

March 21, 2012

With the recession showing no signs of easing up, more and more individuals are turning to desperate means to earn some much-needed cash. Many of these business ventures are ill-formed and lack the necessary foresight in ensuring that proper goods and services are provided to customers. With this in mind, many local governments are turning to business licensing as a way of regulating local businesses and the services they provide.

The Economic Development Committee discussed the possibility of enacting a Farragut, TN business license ordinance at a meeting earlier this month. Proponents for the bill maintain that the business license will enable city officials to regulate existing and new businesses.

As written in the ordinance, a business license would be necessary “To enable the Town of Farragut to carry out its power to license and regulate all who are engaged in any business ....”

The Farragut Press reports that the proposed business license would cost a mere $15 to be paid with the initial application. Business owners will have to submit business license renewal forms each year, but they won’t have to pay any additional fees.

Business license changes occur in different localities each day. Large businesses can save the time and effort it would take to uncover changes in each branch location by outsourcing business license management to licensing experts. Business Licenses’ Outsourced Business License Management Service allows big businesses to outsource business license filing, maintenance and renewal for all their required business licenses & permits with every licensing authority in the U.S.
