Four Unlicensed Salesmen Charged in Moultrie

Police charged four Secure Watch salesmen for conducting sales in town without acquiring the necessary Moultrie, GA business licenses.

A resident prompted police interference after discovering that the salesmen were unlicensed. Upon further investigation, police officers related that the four, Steven Maurice Kelly, 35, Alphonso Lea Byrd, 20, Tuwan Rowell, 27, and Christopher Timothy Norman, 21, were all residents of Tallahassee, Florida and worked for Secure Watch in their hometown.

Though they carried the required Tallahassee, FL business licenses, it is unclear why salesmen of a national alarm system had neglected the crucial step of obtaining the necessary local business licenses before attempting to conduct sales in a different region.

According to The Moultrie Observer, “Byrd, Kelly, Norman and Rowell were charged and issued subpoenas for an upcoming court date, which released them from custody.”
