Council members have passed an order Tuesday, January 3, 2012, that will allow for non-profit organizations to obtain free Belton, SC event business licenses.

Currently all peddlers must pay between $10 to $50 to obtain a Belton, SC business license. With the new order in effect, non-profit organizations will be able to get a Belton, SC business license to peddle their fares at special events for free.

Kirk Brown of Independent Mail, describes the process non-profits would have to take in order to qualify for the free business license.

“The groups would have to furnish up-to-date documentation of their nonprofit status to qualify for the complimentary business license, according to the amended ordinance that city council members endorsed unanimously. Nonprofit organizations also would be required to submit an application prior to every event where they wanted to sell items.”
