NY Legislatures Revoke Business Licenses of 8 Bus Companies

In response to a number of fatal bus crashes, the NY Governor has decided to take action to try and prevent future mishaps. The State Department of Transportation passed a rule last week that would now allow state officials to revoke New York business licenses from transportation companies if they have failed past inspections.

Eight tour bus companies were cited for past wrongdoings and informed that their operating licenses will be suspended. WIVB4 reports Department of Transportation spokesman William Reynolds having said, “The violations were serious, including missing components in a steering system, and concerns over some drivers, including one who had consumed alcohol within four hours of driving.”

Ironically none of fatal crashes that prompted the new rule involved any of the companies who will be losing their business licenses.
