St. Anthony Council Passes Business License Ordinance

Council members passed an ordinance last Thursday to institute a St. Anthony, ID business license.

Concerns about an ice cream truck prompted the initial proposal last year. City officials had no way of getting information on the identity of the owner and operator of the truck. Requiring a business license from every business operating in the city would provide the city with an avenue for obtaining vital information on local businesses.

Joyce Edlefson reports in The Rexburg Standard Journal that some business owners expressed disapproval of the new business license requirement and the fees that would come along with it.

The proposed business license fees are nominal however, with initial filing for a business license costing $25 and business license renewals at $10. Council members did agree to put those fees up for discussion at a public hearing next month.

To discourage solicitors from peddling their wares in the city, council members proposed setting their annual fees at $250.

Business license changes occur in different localities each day. Large businesses can save the time and effort it would take to uncover changes in each branch location by outsourcing business license management to licensing experts. Business Licenses’ Outsourced Business License Management Service allows big businesses to outsource business license filing, maintenance and renewal for all their required business licenses & permits with every licensing authority in the U.S.
