American Canyon Cracks Down on Business License Scoffers

December 12, 2011

City officials have warned local businesses that they had better get their American Canyon business licenses by June 28 of next year or they will face a criminal complaint.

Council members voted last Tuesday, December 6, 2011 to launch the start of an American Canyon, CA Business License Amnesty Program aimed at ensuring the compliance of every local business with business licensing requirements.

The average cost of an annual business license in American Canyon is $100. Businesses who haven’t applied for the license could have up to $1,000 in past fees and penalties. The amnesty program will waive all those fees as a means of getting local businesses to come into compliance. This comes hand in hand with a greater effort made by city officials to crack down on unlicensed businesses.

As reported by Rachel Raskin-Zrihen for the Ventura County Star, “The amnesty coincides with a redoubled effort by Code Enforcement to find businesses operating without a license, including redesigning work schedules to include weekends, when much non-sanctioned work is done. It will kick in after the first of the year.”

To avoid unnecessary issues with unlicensed branches, and the fines associated with those, large businesses can purchase the Business License Compliance Package™.  The online "Business License Compliance Package™" tells you exactly which licenses, permits, and tax registrations are required for your business ensuring compliance on every government level!
