Delinquent Business License Payers to Face Hearing in Montgomery City

January 9, 2012

Business owners who have failed to renew their Montgomery, AL business licenses and haven’t paid the accompanying business license taxes will now be subject to a show-case hearing by the city during which they will have to explain their inaction.

Montgomery Advertiser reports that the city has already sent letters to the unlicensed businesses asking them to come into compliance. With no response forthcoming, the city has decided to move on to the next step and bring the businesses to a public hearing. Six businesses are in danger of being shut down if they won’t come into compliance and/or explain the delay in renewing their business licenses at the hearing.

Business license compliance is mandatory on national, federal and local levels. Operating without proper state, county and city business licenses can cost business owners thousands in fines and penalties. Business owners are urged to take advantage of Business Licenses’ "Business License Compliance Package™"  which explains exactly which licenses, permits, and tax registrations are required for your business, ensuring license compliance on every level.
