Incorrect Filing Details Leads to Loss of Business License

December 19, 2011

GV Auto Sales lost their Milford, MA business license last week for inserting untrue information into their business license application. Town officials have discovered that the person who owns the used car dealership is different than the one given as the owner of the car shop on the business license forms.

Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin has ascertained that Ednei Pimenta is the acting owner of the used car shop, signing documents, arranging sales and dealing with customers; while GV Auto Sales is legally licensed under the name, Edmilson DaSilva Sa.

Pimenta has admitted to using someone else’s name when applying for a business license as he would be unqualified for receiving the Milford business license. MilfordPatch reports that not only would Pimenta not qualify for a local business license, but moreover, “Pimenta told Milford detectives, in an interview on an unrelated matter, that his state motor vehicle operators license had been revoked by the Registry of Motor Vehicles.”

Incorrect information on his business license application may have bought Pimenta some time in running his business but has ultimately led to the downfall of his enterprise.
